10 September(mon) Ori Gersht History Repeating Exhibition,celebrate the opening special
reception at the MFA-Boston I returned to Boston on September 6, but I am still suffering from jetlag after 5 days! However, I was happy to be invited to a special reception at the MFA-Boston tonight to celebrate the opening of a new exhibition in the contemporary arts section of the museum. I was pleased to be able to meet many of my friends and enjoy a different kind of exhibition. One reason I love the MFA is the wide variety of many different kinds of art. I enjoyed learning from other artists and exchanging ideas. |

works of the artist, Ori Gersht which is titled History Repeating. I was also happy to make some new friends from London who came with him and helped make the exhibition. I really enjoyed the reception! |

| September 20 September 20, 2012: Starting Piecing "hexagonal log cabin project" My jetlag is finally gone! I have started piecing for my hexagonal log cabin project. This is the second series of Two Hearts in Harmony. The last 3 quilts that I made were silk. I feel refreshed because this quilt is cotton. It is indigo dyed fabric. This quilt has 13,260 pieces that I have brought to my Boston studio. As always, I will do the entire stitching by my own hand. |

| I have a small terrace where I enjoy my herb garden that includes basil, rosemary, thyme, parsley and sage. I enjoy cooking with these every day. |

Boston is quickly moving into Autumn weather. Although the daytime temperature
is 20 to 23 degrees, the nighttime is only 7 to 10 degrees. It is perfect days and nights. Now I can see the first hints that the leaves will soon be changing to their beautiful fall colors of orange, red and yellow. The sky is also cool, crisp and lovely. |

September 24(Mon) Annual meeting of the Boards of Overseers and Trustees I attended the MFA Annual meeting of the Boards of Overseer and Trustees. |

I learned more about the new developments of the past year and plans for
the new year, and was pleased to learn that the museum has retained and
strengthened its financial strength to ensure its long term success. After the program I enjoyed the reception party held in the newly renovated Koch Gallery which was fabulous. Also I was pleased to have the opportunity to meet the Director and other officials from the Nagoya/Boston Museum of Fine Arts. |

| About 250 people attended this event; everyone was dressed in their lovely
outfits welcoming the coming Fall season. This picture shows the outfit that I chose to wear for this event(I enjoy the combination of brown and royal blue!:)) |

| September 25, Tuesday MFA Boston Meeting with Textile Curator My Boston studio news on my website is usually highlights of my daily life, including visits to the MFA, Boston Symphony, and many other activities.Today's news is different, but very important for me. |
 |
My quilting career began with my mother's gifts of many textiles from our
family collection. Two of the most important pieces that she gave me a were a yogi and cape from the early 19th century that were passed down from my grandfather. The yogi and cape were a part of my exhibition in Australia in 2005 and 2006.Since then I have not displayed them but very carefully cared for them. Since I do not have any family to receive and care for these in the future, I asked the curator of the textile department at the MFA to assess the quality of these items. |
| Today I am happy to announce that she considers them to be of very high
quality, especially because everything is still in its original condition,
and she wants to add them to the permanent collection at the MFA-Boston. I expect to arrange the details to eventually make gifts of the yogi and cape to the MFA, which makes me extremely proud and happy! And I am confident that my mother is also very proud of this gift, and honored that the MFA will care for them forever!! |

| I also attended the annual meeting of the Board of Directors of the MFA -Boston on September 24. The meeting included a report of the financial strength of the museum and reporting about new benefactors, including four anonymous persons, one who contributed more than $100,000,000. I am deeply impressed with their generosity. For them, their prior personal history is not important, and their action is much more important than personal recognition. |
| September 25 Red Sox at Fenway Park I enjoyed the Red Sox game and seeing Terry Francona, the former manager before the game. Unfortunately the Red Sox lost the game, and I did not take any pictures... |

September 27 Thursday Dinner Workshop I attended a dinner workshop including a speech about business and investing. I enjoyed the dinner and was happy to receive the lovely gift of a wine opener! Boston is receiving a lot of rain this weekend and the season is changing! I will work inside and make more progress with my quilting and enjoy cooking :) |
