™š™š™2011 August Shari studio news™š™š™

19 August

I am continuing to enjoy life at my Hokkaido studio in August.
Of course I am continuing with my textile works, but I have also done maintenance work outside.
I learned about the importance of hard work and exercise from a friend who is a professional pianist.
He does strengthening exercises for his hands, and practices for long hours everyday.
Because my left hand is weaker than my right hand, I want to strengthen it.
So I have combined exercise with necessary maintenance.
I am spending at least two hours everyday using my left hand to remove grass from the space between bricks in the driveway.
It is such hard work that the large spoon that I am using is only 1/3 of its original size, and the shape has changed from a usual round to a sharp triangle to fit in the small space growing between the bricks.
My pianist friend practices so long that his fingernails would bleed.
Fortunately, although that has not happened to me, the exercise has significantly increased the strength!
Before 2011, I had to use chemical grass killer, so this exercise has been of benefit to my hand and the environment!
I also enjoyed spending most of one day with my close friend.
We enjoyed picking many blueberries at the farm near my studio.
Everyone in Japan is very proud of the national soccer team who won the world championship!
Also I was extra proud that Audi has decided to give them all a special prize, i.e., each person received a new A1!
This was a total of 21 new cars!..And yes,I enjoying my A4!

If you would like to host an exhibition of my quilt, please contact me.
