| June 1, 2014 MFA Artist demonstration My exhibition at the MFA-Boston has been on display in gallery 177 since November of 2013. I have enjoyed making several gallery talks since then, including a introduction to the docents who give guided tours of the museum. On June 1, 2014 I had the opportunity to present a 3 hour artist demonstration in the druker gallery on the history of japanese textiles and Japanese techniques of how to make quilts. |

This was a drop-in style demonstration with no advance admission fee, so
I did not know how many people to expect to attend. I was very happy that more than 75 people attended, many staying for a long time. |

| I brought many pieces of different kinds of fabric, several in process
examples of some current works and several of my completed quilts that
are not in the mfa collection. everyone appreciated the opportunity to
see everything, ask many questions and hear my explanations. These are several other pictures from my lecture. Next year will be my 30th year of making quilts. I continue to have the strong desire and necessary patience to continue to make beautiful quilts. I hope that I never have to completely stop. |

| June 2, 2014 Italian National day I attended the annual reception at the office of the Italian consul general located in the Federal reserve building in Boston where the entire Italian community in Boston comes together to celebrate Italian national day. I have enjoyed being close friends with the current consul general for thepast 4 years. His tour in boston is ending this summer, and he announced that he will be relocating to the office in Toronto. Therefore I am hoping that we can continue to see each other from time to time.... |

| June 3, 2014 MFA- Ross Society- Annual meeting I always look forward to attending the annual meeting of the ross society. I appreciated the opportunity to hear Malcolm Rogers and several curators report on the past year achievements and future plans. After the business meeting everyone enjoyed a private tour of two newly renovated galleries prior to their reopening to the public. And, of course, we enjoyed a delicious buffet in the koch gallery too!! June 10, 2014 Vancouver trip I have been working very hard every day all winter and spring, so I am happy to be able to enjoy several days visiting Vancouver Canada. It is a beautiful city on West coast of Canada at the eastern edge of the pacific ocean. But,I will soon return to my studio in Shari, Hokkaido which is on the opposite side of the pacific. I am looking forward to all of my summer work at my studio, and being able to share the time with my cat :)) Please enjoy your summer work too!! |
