March 2 (Fri) I was very happy that we finally had some snow in Boston! I have been waiting for more snow for a long time, but suddenly we had a nice snowfall. I enjoyed looking out my window at the snow on the branches as I enjoyed my morning coffee. I was happy because it reminded me of my studio in Hokkaido. Yes, I still love snow ! |

| March 3 (Sat) I attended a wonderful concert at the BSO. The guest conductor was Eschenbach, a famous musician, and the guest pianist was Cedric Tiberghien, a young French pianist making his first appearance with the BSO. Within 3 minutes of his beginning my heart was touched by the beauty and passion of his playing ! After intermission I was very surprised that he came to a seat that was very close to me in first balcony, where he enjoyed the second half of the concert ! ....Yes, I was very happy to say hello to him, thank him for the beautiful music, and even get his autograph on my program! :) |

I was also very happy to enjoy the extended solo performance of my friend
who plays the english horn. I love many kinds of music, and not just classical. I espcially love the personality and passion that many musicians put into their performance that comes from their hearts. The enjoy performing for the beauty of the performance, and not just for making money. Of course they deserve to be paid, but when the money becomes more important than the performance, the music tends to decline. I find strength from the passion of most musicians for continuing my passion for my own work ! But I strongly dislike the musicians who ruin their lives with drugs and alcohol ! It is such a waste of talent, and a waste of their lives. |

March 5 (Mon) I starting a new project with 13.5 cm log cabin design pattern using hemp fabric. I am using fabric that I brought from my Shari studio. |
| One picture is the raw fabric, and the second is the beginning of my piecing. I have finished planning the color harmony and am now starting the piecing. |

I have lots of pain in my shoulder and fingers, so I sometimes take a rest and enjoy cooking ! I made a turkey tofu loaf, and a salad of tomatoes and anise. Anise is a delicious vegetable that I did not know in Japan. This is a picture of an anise bulb. (this is not a root.) |
