November 12 MFA Textile and Fashion Arts Meeting at my Woods End Studio |
||
I hosted one of the 4 annual meetings of the Textile and Fashion Arts Society
meeting. This was the first time that society meeting was held outside of the MFA, at least to the recollection of everyone's memory. |

This picture shows my dining room table being prepared to provide refreshments for everyone who attended. The second photo with the flowers was the main entrance to my studio. The curators came at 5:00 pm to prepare for the meeting that started at 6. Although it was scheduled to end at 8, I was happy that many members stayed until about 9! |

About 25 members attended. Two curators from the MFA presented speeches. The second picture is Marilyn Pappas, who gave a lecture on her embroidery art. This is a link to her website: www.marilynpappas.com |

My lecture was about the process for making each of my quilts, from start
to finish. I was satisfied that my several weeks of preparation was well received, as well as several days of cooking and preparing food! |
I was very impressed that several members took the time and effort to send me handwritten thank you notes expressing their appreciation for the event, including the food that I spent several days in preparation. | |||

I am happy that I can contribute more than just quilt making to the MFA and the Textile department. I am happy to contribute in any way that I can. |
