| Fired Earth,Woven Bamboovcelebrates contemporary Japanese decorative arts at the MFA I am very pleased to announce that six quilts from my Two Hearts in Harmony series in the permanent collection at the MFA-Boston are currently on display as part of a new exhibition celebrating contemporary Japanese decorative arts! The exhibit is titled Fired Earth, Woven Bamboo and is located in the Art of Asia wing, Gallery 177. This exhibit includes many pieces of pottery and bamboo art from the Stanley and Mary Ann Snider Collection. The exhibit opened on November 12 and will remain on display until September 8, 2014, so I hope you can make an opportunity to visit the MFA. | I participated in a Gallery talk on November 20, and expect that I will
have additional gallery talks scheduled some time in 2014. I was very happy that my dear friend and curator of my Two Hearts in Harmony tour in Australia in 2005 - 2006, Dana McCown, was able to visit me for the opening of the exhibition. This exhibit is a wonderful combination of many amazing pieces of Japanese pottery and genius woven bamboo art, especially plates made by Kitaoji Rosanjin. |

I am also pleased to announce that the new issue of the 'Quilt Japan magazine'
includes a feature article detailing my past 28 years of quilting history. It will be available everywhere in Japan on December 4, 2013, and includes pictures from my Hokkaido studio in this July. |
| And yes, I did take time out to celebrate the American Thanksgiving holiday
on November 28. My 89 year old friend cooked a delicious turkey, but I was asked to carve it! :) |
