In enjoyed my first experience of a cruise in Boston Harbor. It was a special occasion to celebrate the Bar Mitzvah and Bat Mitzvah for our friend's twins, and included several hours of dinner, dancing, entertainment and celebration of this special event. This reminded me of the Okhotsk ocean cruise around the Shiretoko World Heritage Park near my studio, except the Spirit of Boston cruise ship is larger and nicer!:) |

I also enjoyed attending a fantastic concert performed by the Borromeo Quartet at the New England Conservatory of Music as part of the celebration of my birthday. My birthday was on the US Thanksgiving holiday this year. |
| My most difficult accomplishment this month was not about my work, but obtaining my Massachusetts driver's license! Although I have driven for 40 years in Japan, this was difficult learning all of the US rules, studying the English words, and practicing for the road test, including keeping right (!) and learning to parallel park! It was a cold, but beautiful day, so I enjoyed a visit to Wachusetts Meadows,
the Massachusetts Audubon Society farm. I was happy to visit the sheep that provide some of the wool that I use in my spinning project, and did some trekking to enjoy the lovely late fall scenery. |

| I also saw their solar electric project and was thinking about how it may help help Japan with its future energy needs. |  |
